What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-8 Tutor position at Braintrust Tutors?
Grades 3rd-5th ELA Tutor - In-Person
As a Tutor with Braintrust Tutors, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students by providing high-quality reading interventions. Your role will involve working with students individually or in small groups during both daytime and after-school hours. You will receive training and materials to effectively implement our intervention programs, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed.
This is estimated to start in late February or early March and last until early June. Tutoring will likely be during the school day for 2.5-4 hours a week, three times a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in ELA to 3rd-5th grade students.
- Implement our intervention programs according to the provided guidelines.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and progress using our reporting platform.
- Communicate regularly with our Operations team and school staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
Qualifications:
- A background in Education or a related field.
- Active or Expired Teaching License (substitute teaching or paraprofessional licenses are excluded)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Experience working with K-8th grade students is a plus.
