Job Overview
Bramble Ridge Catering is a company located in Boone, IA, that primarily caters the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad dinner train experience. This job is different than typical restaurants because guests have pre-ordered their meals. Servers take care of drink orders at the beginning of the train ride along with serving salad, entrée, and dessert courses while on a moving train. The train ride lasts approximately two hours, making this an extremely fast-paced environment. The ability to work professionally and quickly while maintaining a calm demeanor is crucial. Must be at least 16 years old.
Duties
- Greet guests promptly, providing drink menus and knowledge about the train and what services they should expect.
- Take accurate beverage orders quickly.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area throughout service.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, enhancing overall guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to provide informed recommendations to guests.
- Be a self-motived problem-solver.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, but not required.
- Must enjoy working with people.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with guests, coworkers, and kitchen staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
