Job Summary: The Foreman will be responsible for timely dispatching, scheduling and coordination of field & shop technicians; in addition, the foreman will be responsible for assisting the technicians with technical direction/information as it relates to ongoing jobs. This position is responsible for reviewing all service work orders before closing to ensure fair and accurate customer billings within the established company time guidelines. This position will be responsible for care/custody of company owned tooling & equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform daily and operational activities in the service department to include the following, but not limited to:
- Schedule and supervise all aspects of equipment repair at customer locations and branch facilities by priority to achieve maximum efficiency
- Maintain a schedule that is updated on a daily basis
- Ensure all jobs are performed on time and within budget
- Prepare written estimates, initiate opening and reviewing of work orders, approve and monitor required departmental paperwork for accuracy
- Maintain good customer relationships, communicate with customer prior to job beginning, during the repair process and following the machine repair
- Ensure technicians are equipped with proper information before departing to the jobsite
- Work with outside contractors for assistance when needed
- Assist Technicians with technical support when needed
- Maintain shop & truck cleanliness, organization & safety compliance
- Communicate with management any developing issues
- Work closely with shop personnel when jobs exit "field job" status and become "shop jobs"
- Care and custody of all company owned tooling & equipment, repairs & maintenance as necessary
- Provide telephone technical support to customers call ins
- Supervise & coordinate new machine PDI’s
- Supervise & manage remarketing inspections & repairs
- Assist with weekly machine & attachment inventory
- Supervise tool room, waste oil & bulk fluids for accuracy
- Must be willing take phone calls afterhours and on weekends as necessary to support customers
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent
- 5 years heavy equipment technician experience preferred, Komatsu a plus
- Technical or service supervisory background a plus
- Proficient with computers and aspects of Microsoft office
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Candidate will project professionalism with all customers internal and external
- A solid sense of urgency is a must, treating customers as the highest priority
- Must be able to pass a background, physical, and drug screen
