Summary: Cash Application Specialist performs daily cash management duties for the company accurately within the Accounts Receivable system.
Job Responsibilities
- Verify remittance amounts and details.
- Identify and flag unapplied cash to appropriate customers.
- Quickly and accurately apply cash receipts to customer accounts via data entry per remittance detail.
- Daily and monthly bank and AR detail reporting and balancing.
- Post credit card payments, wire transfers, and ACH credits.
- Research unapplied credit memos, short paid invoices, and other reconciliation items and clear as necessary.
- Research accounts for refunds and submit requests to AP for check processing.
- Deposit checks to appropriate banks.
- Check scanning to the bank lockbox for review and posting.
- Monitor and review the Cash Receipts mailbox.
- Assist Billing & Collections with customer inquiries related to payments.
- Assist with audit requests.
- Additional clerical and accounting duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cash application experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel) and experience with Intellidealer software a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships with external clients and internal departments.
- Familiarity with accounting functions.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must be able to climb stairs and lift 20 lbs. unaided.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
