Branch Landscape Group is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Irrigation Technician to manage and maintain irrigation systems for our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining systems to ensure proper operation, water distribution and conservation. The Irrigation Technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing any problems that may arise with irrigation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and maintain irrigation systems for clients.
- Conduct system audits to identify areas of inefficiency or areas in need of improvement.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems with irrigation systems, including leaks, clogs, and broken pipes.
- Monitor and adjust irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution and conservation.
- Manage and maintain irrigation schedules and water budgets for clients.
- Educate clients on proper irrigation practices and water conservation strategies.
- Keep up to date with new irrigation technologies and techniques.
- Pursue and develop uniformly high company standards for the maintenance and installation of sprinkler systems and components.
- Assist, train and/or oversee landscape crews with the installation or modification of irrigation systems and components.
- Map out zones, heads and valve locations on job sites for correct installation by construction crews.
- Facilitate the startup and winterization of irrigation systems for commercial and residential properties.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in irrigation system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of irrigation principles, practices, and equipment.
- Familiarity with different types of irrigation systems such as drip, spray and 2-wire installations.
- Ability to read and interpret various landscape plans, diagrams and technical manuals.
- Experience with irrigation software and tools such as Smart/ET controllers and flow sensors and rain sensors.
- Experience with back flow preventer installation and plumbing.
- Ability to operate various pieces of equipment such as air compressors, trenchers and small engine tools.
- Understanding of local water regulations and conservation practices.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently through all weather conditions and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to company facilities.
- Ability to write and communicate in English & Spanish preferred.
