Description
The Certified Teacher has a passion for teaching and building relationships with students and improve their reading skills. The Certified Teacher will lead small Differentiated Learning Instruction groups 3 days a week with struggling elementary students. The Certified Teacher will live out the Branches Way. These distinct W’s articulate how the Branches culture is formed: Words, Worth, Welcome, With, Walk, Wonder.
Direct Service – Grow Program
- Identify struggling readers and deliver individualized instructional supports in small groups (no more than five students) or one-on-one
- Administer and record iSTEEP Oral Reading Fluency assessment for children in K-3, and iSTEEP Maze assessment for children in Grades 4-5 (pre-, mid-, and post-tests)
- Develop and lead small group literacy activities and lesson plans that incorporate active reading and comprehension strategies??
- Encourages positive behaviors by authentically praising, affirming, and breathing life into students
- Creates and maintains a warm, caring, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified Teacher in the State of Florida
- Successful experience working directly with students
- Proficiency in written and spoken English necessary; Creole and/or Spanish language skills are a plus
