Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bucket Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with tree care, including trimming, removals, and rigging, and be capable of operating and maintaining bucket trucks and other equipment. The role involves leading a crew, ensuring safe operations, and maintaining equipment to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate bucket trucks and other heavy equipment for tree trimming, removal, and rigging projects.
- Safely trim and/or remove trees, branches, and trunk sections using appropriate tools.
- Load and unload trucks, feed debris into wood chippers, and handle large debris.
- Direct and guide crew members, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment, including gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, and traffic control measures to safeguard employees and the public.
- Coordinate with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
- Assist with training new employees and overseeing daily crew operations.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bucket Truck Operator or Crew Foreman, preferably in tree care or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive trucks and operate heavy equipment.
