Job Summary
The Manager, International Public Relations will support Brand USA’s global communications strategy, focusing on expanding relationships with consumer media and content creators to drive awareness of U.S. destinations. This role will support a network of international press agencies to maximize Brand USA’s visibility and engagement across key global markets. Additionally, the position oversees the familiarization tour program for traditional media and content creators, working with partners on itinerary building, themes, and execution.
Essential Functions
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key travel, lifestyle, trade, and consumer media and content creators across Brand USA’s priority international markets to drive positive coverage of U.S. travel experiences.
- Conduct and manage recurring check-in meetings with international PR agencies, ensuring effective coordination across time zones for campaign implementation, event activations, and media relations in support of Brand USA’s global strategy.
- Plan and execute media familiarization trips, attracting international journalists and influencers to generate positive media coverage that aligns with Brand USA’s key messaging while highlighting diverse U.S. destinations and experiences.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and distribution of Brand USA’s international press kit, including press releases, talking points, target media lists, digital assets, and fact sheets to ensure consistency and accessibility for global media.
- Work collaboratively with Brand USA’s social media team on projects involving content creators and social media influencers, ensuring consistency across digital and PR efforts.
- Assist in crafting executive speaking points at international press events, ensuring messaging aligns with Brand USA’s strategic communications goals.
- Monitor and report on KPIs for PR initiatives, providing regular updates on earned media coverage and agency performance.
- Report to work on a regular basis and be available for occasional after-hours emergency calls and projects.

Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in public relations, with a strong emphasis on international consumer media and influencer relations. Extensive knowledge of the global travel industry landscape is preferred.
- Strategic & Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with international media, influencers, and key stakeholders. Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
- Media & Influencer Expertise: Proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage and influencer engagement across global markets, with expertise in travel, lifestyle, business, culinary, arts & culture, and other relevant sectors across print, digital, broadcast, and social media platforms.
- Executive Communication & Presence: Ability to represent Brand USA’s global communications team at key events, trade missions, and media engagements. Capable of supporting the CEO and other executives during high-profile media opportunities as needed.
- International Travel: Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required for meetings, events, and media engagements.
- Independent Work & Productivity: Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of productivity, initiative, and energy.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, specifically PowerPoint is a plus.
- Foreign Language Proficiency: Fluency in a foreign language is preferred, as this role involves collaboration with international media, PR agencies, and stakeholders across diverse global markets.
- Remote Work Requirements: A dedicated, quiet workspace that allows for focused work, along with homeowner’s or renter’s insurance to comply with company technology, safety, and health requirements.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and other productivity tools. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.

Schedule
Brand USA’s business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our standard work hours may vary based upon position requirements. Additional hours may be required during peak times, which may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
