Job Summary:
As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the company’s invoice and collections process. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining customer accounts, ensuring timely payment for goods or services, and resolving billing issues, while also maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successful accounts receivable experience
Key Responsibilities:
Invoicing and Billing:
- Preparing and sending invoices to customers.
- Ensuring invoices are accurate and complete.
- Maintaining accurate customer records.
Payment Processing:
- Receiving and processing customer payments (checks, credit cards, ACH/wire payments).
- Verifying and posting payments to customer accounts.
- Reconciling payments to invoices.
Collection and Follow-up:
- Identifying and following up on overdue payments.
- Contacting customers to resolve billing issues and payment discrepancies.
- Negotiating payment plans.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintaining accurate records of customer accounts and transactions.
- Generating reports on accounts receivable status.
- Assisting with month-end closing procedures and reconciliations.
Customer Service:
- Responding to customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving issues promptly.
Other Duties:
- May assist with credit checks and credit limit recommendations.
- May investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices.
- May assist with audits and reconciliations.
- Review customer documentation to determine taxability and adjust customer accounts accordingly
- Complete requests from customers to complete new vendor set up forms
- Other ad hoc projects
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in accounting
- Years of experience required /- 2
- Net Suite Experience-preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
