The Hotel is searching for a hands-on General Manager to oversee all daily hotel operations and achieve planned goals for revenue and profit while maintaining standards for guest satisfaction, employee engagement, quality assurance, and asset protection. Financial management skills are critical to the success of each of our managers in order to meet goals established for operational expenses and labor cost.
Responsible for managing all departments of the hotel: Front Desk, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Sales.
- Oversee all aspects of the front desk and is responsible for leading all guest service representatives to deliver exceptional customer service and keep guest service scores above the brand average.
- Sales; Develop and implement an effective strategic sales plan. Develop and maintain a strong work relationship with key opinion leaders and contacts with other relevant agents. Monitor, analyze sales and market trends. Prospecting and growing an account list, handling incoming leads and closing sales. Seeking out and targeting new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business for the Company.
Responsible for all Accounts Receivables, monitoring A/R aging on a proactive basis.
- Housekeeping responsibilities: Oversee the housekeeping department, inspect rooms daily to ensure the rooms are up to the standards that the brand has set and our customers have come to expect.
Perform daily property walks with the maintenance and housekeeping staff to correct any issues with the property and manage the preventive maintenance project.
- Daily responsibilities include tracking: Cancellations, No Shows, Adjustments, Daily Analysis report, Daily posting report, Maintaining Direct billing accounts, Room moves report, performing property walks, verifying cash deposits and handling guest complaints.
- Weekly responsibilities include: , making bank runs, verifying housekeeping inventory, ordering supplies, implementing the employee schedule. Submitting: payroll report, housekeeping reporting, Club Enrollments report (loyalty program), Guest Survey reporting and tracking and Sales Activity report.
- Other responsibilities include preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual budget.
- Reading the forecast and market trends to get prime price optimization.
* You will be required to work the Front Desk to learn the Property Management System and learn the key reports and requirement needed to run the Hotel optimally. Once mastered, you will then be required to work the desk as need basis to ensure your AM, PM and Night Audit shifts are working correctly to ensure you have a well-run Front Desk department.
Qualifications
· Previous experience as a hotel General Manager is required.
· Bachelor's in Hotel Management or Business Management is preferred but not required.
· Willingness to learn new information and continuing education is required.
