The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the Operations Team within Networks and Systems. The Operations Team supports, maintains, and makes configuration adjustments to the University's complex infrastructure. This infrastructure includes but is not limited to :
- WAN, Spine, Leaf, Distribution, Voice (PSTN), and Edge routers and switches
- Wireless Controllers and access points
- Security systems including access control and cameras
- All components of the telephony infrastructure, including call managers, voicemail, contact center, and phone messaging queues
- Enterprise backup and storage systems
- Datacenter and closet environmentals (HVAC) as well as uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) and power distribution units (PDU)
- The entire underground plant, conduits, paths, and fiber which connect the campus buildings
This position also plays a key role in any tel / data projects on campus, providing not only expertise in this field, but also serving as a project manager which oversees all trades within a given project.
