Brandeis University has an exciting opportunity for a Research Technician to join Dr. Michael Rosbash's laboratory in the Department of Biology in Waltham, MA. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will utilize a wide range of approaches including molecular biology to support a group studying circadian rhythms and gene expression.
The Research Technician position provides an excellent opportunity for a new college graduate to continue scientific learning and development. The candidate will be trained to perform cutting-edge molecular biology techniques, to communicate scientific information, and to work effectively as part of a research team. The candidate will be responsible for planning, conducting, and analyzing studies under the guidance of a senior researcher. In addition, the candidate will perform administrative functions such as ordering, inventory, and receiving lab shipments. The position is full-time.

Principal Responsibilities :
- Perform experiments involving next generation sequencing, bioinformatics, single cell isolation, Drosophila genetics and / or general molecular biology depending on lab needs.
- Collect, compile, and analyze data.
- Participate in a research community by attending lab meetings and seminars.
- Administrative and support responsibilities (placing orders, maintaining inventory of basic laboratory supplies, organizing equipment repairs, and managing lab deliveries)
- Other duties as assigned
