MDS Job Description & Qualifications
The MDS team member assists with the overall process and tracking of all Medicare / Medicaid case-mix documents in order to assure appropriate reimbursement for services provided and coordinates the RAI process assuring timeliness and completeness of the MDS, CAA’s and Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Appropriate and timely completion of MDS’s and Care Plans
- Ensures the MDS/RAI deadlines and accuracy requirements are met while ensuring that coding most appropriately captures each patient’s acuity and needs for accurate and optimal reimbursement
- Attends care plan meetings, morning meetings, and QA
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous MDS experience
- Must possess current Virginia RN License
- Excellent communication skills
