Job Description:

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring smooth financial operations. You will work closely with the management team to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This role will initially be approximately 10 hours per month but will increase hours to 10-20 hours per week with the opening of a physical office in Bismarck, ND.

  • For an outgoing person there is definitely sales opportunities (no cold calling), which can be very lucrative.

Key Objectives:

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports to assist in decision-making.
  • Support the financial health of the company by maintaining clear and up-to-date records.

Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Record all incoming and outgoing transactions and categorize them appropriately.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other accounts to ensure accurate balances.

Payroll Management:

  • Process payroll using Gusto, ensuring employees are paid on time and deductions are accurately made.
  • Manage employee benefits and other payroll-related issues.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for internal review.
  • Provide detailed financial reports to management as needed.
  • Assist with year-end financial close and tax preparation.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Manage and track accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up on outstanding payments.
  • Process bills, receipts, and payments to vendors, contractors, and clients.

Software Proficiency:

  • Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting and financial record-keeping.
  • Use Excel and other software to track financial data, generate reports, and manage spreadsheets.

General Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the management team as needed.
  • Assist with financial planning and budget forecasting.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Gusto, and Microsoft Excel (experience with other accounting software is a plus).
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience with small business accounting.
  • Familiarity with tax filing and financial compliance for businesses.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

We are committed to opening a physical location in the Bismarck/Mandan area (in the next 6 months) and are looking for the right team to grow with. As a result, WE ARE ONLY TAKING APPLICANTS FROM CENTRAL/WESTERN NORTH DAKOTA.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.28 - $22.32 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
