About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Shopify App Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining custom Shopify applications. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successfully developing and deploying Shopify apps using the platform’s APIs and is passionate about creating seamless e-commerce experiences.
Our clients have frequent requests for customized applications on Shopify sites. We are looking for a developer that loves getting hard and complicated requests that require a full set of experiences to lean on. If you are curious and want to take on challenges, you have found the right place.
Key Responsibilities
App Development & Maintenance
- Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify applications using Shopify’s APIs, webhooks, and other integration points.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code to meet project requirements and performance standards.
API Integration & Optimization
- Integrate third-party APIs and services when required, ensuring data accuracy and smooth user experiences.
- Optimize integration methods and workflows for performance and reliability.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with cross-functional teams—including designers, project managers, and marketing teams—to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Communicate technical ideas effectively and collaborate in an agile environment.
Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure high-quality product releases.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues during development and post-launch.
Documentation & Best Practices
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for app functionalities, APIs, and architecture.
- Stay up-to-date with Shopify ecosystem updates, best practices, and emerging trends in e-commerce development.
Qualifications & Skills
Professional Experience:
- 5 years of experience building and maintaining Shopify applications.
- 10 years of backend development experience.
- Proven track record of successfully published apps on the Shopify App Store and privately for clients.
Technical Proficiency:
- Expert-level knowledge of Shopify APIs (REST, GraphQL) and their implementation.
- Proficiency in front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Vue) and back-end (Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or Python) development technologies.
- Familiarity with Shopify Liquid templating language and theme customization.
Database & Cloud:
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
