Brandon Academy (BA) is looking for a full-time, dynamic, passionate, and innovative teacher with expertise in the full range of high school mathematics. This teacher will play a vital role in fostering a student-driven community and creating a learning environment characterized by resilience, respect, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging. We empower adolescents to develop agency within a structured framework and provide mentorship to help them thrive and grow. As a faculty member, the teacher will contribute to advancing Brandon Academy’s mission, vision, and values. Specific responsibilities include teaching five sections of mathematics and serving as a co-advisor.
Located in Brandon, Florida, BA is a small, coeducational college preparatory school for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our learning community consists of about 260 students and 25 faculty and staff members, all guided by the mission of discovering and developing individual potential. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging math curricula for high school students, focusing on subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
- Manage classroom dynamics to foster a positive learning environment.
- Provide individualized support and tutoring to students, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional design.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities within the school community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Education
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Experience teaching high school students, particularly in Calculus and Algebra
- Proven ability in curriculum development and instructional design
- Familiarity with standardized testing and mentoring practices
- Leadership experience within a school environment
- Ability to effectively utilize learning technology in the classroom
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $46,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
