ABOUT THE ROLE
The agencyis seeking a skilled Business Data Analyst with a focus on data quality tosupport the measurement and tracking of improvements for the organization's sourcesystem assessments. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for reviewingand analyzing multiple data source systems to assess issues related to datavalidity, reliability, and consistency. The primary goal of the role is toenable the agency to make informed decisions by providing insights into data quality,ensuring the data produced is accurate, reliable, and suitable fordecision-making and reporting. The Business Data Analyst will collaborateclosely with Data Custodians, Data Stewards, Data Owners, and key stakeholdersfrom divisions such as Developmental Services, Clinical and Quality Management,and Administration to identify data quality issues and support efforts tomeasure and track improvements. This will involve defining business rules tostandardize data quality practices and ensure alignment with data governancestandards across systems.
Additionally,the Business Data Analyst will assist in designing and maintaining data qualitydashboards that provide visibility into the health of the data, enablingstakeholders to monitor performance and identify areas for ongoing improvement.The analyst will conduct reviews of existing data systems and processes toidentify potential areas for enhancing data validation, reliability, andquality control measures. Through interviews with subject matter experts andstakeholders, the analyst will gather insights into data challenges andcollaborate on formulating recommendations that can drive improvement. Theanalyst will track and measure the effectiveness of these improvements,ensuring that progress is made and sustained over time.
The rolerequires excellent communication skills, as the analyst will work withmanagement, IT, and program personnel to clearly convey complex data qualityissues and the necessary steps for improvement. The ideal candidate will haveproven experience in business analysis and data quality management, with astrong focus on measuring data integrity and tracking improvements. Proficiencyin MS Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and familiarity with data warehouseconcepts and tools is essential. The candidate should possess strong analyticalskills, with the ability to assess data quality challenges and trackimprovement initiatives. Additionally, experience in defining and enforcingbusiness rules, creating data quality dashboards, and monitoring data health ishighly valued. The candidate must also have strong interpersonal andcommunication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and explaindata-related challenges in a clear and accessible way. Experience working withboth structured and unstructured data, as well as a solid understanding of datamanagement best practices, will also be important for success in this role.
