The SENIOR SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for providing reliable, cost-effective, & secure enterprise-wide support for business critical production & non-production databases for the Client.
The SENIOR SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for providing reliable, cost-effective, & secure enterprise-wide support for business critical production & non-production databases for the Client.
Installing and upgrading SQL Servers, including applying service packs
- Creating and scheduling SQL Server jobsto perform database maintenance activity
- Updating statistics
- Monitoring error logs and event logsfor database errors
- SQL Server Profiler
- SQL Server Configuration Manager
- Performance Monitor
- SQL Server Broker Service
- MSDTC
- Database Mail
- Managing SQL Server security and auditing
- Database roles
- SQL Server and database auditing
- Capacity Planning for storage and database objects
- Index and statistics usage
- Database backup and recovery
- Developing recovery procedures to meetRPO and RTO
- Creating and testing Disaster Recovery plans
- SQL Server High Availability Methods
- Always On
Building and maintaining Windows Host and Guest Servers
Nessus configuration and vulnerability scans
Utilizing PowerShell for administration tasks
Windows Server Roles and Features
PreferredKnowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with industry security standards (PUB1075, FIPS, and PII)
Cloud storage, backup, and restore mechanisms
Firewall administration and maintenance
Active Directory knowledge (GPO, FQDN, DNS Server, SPN)
Web Services development and support
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
