What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Brandon Elderly Apartments?
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of the apartment complex. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.
Responsibilities
- Overall maintenance of the apartment complex - minor and preventive
- Install appliances, dispose of old ones and make repairs when needed to them
- Assist 3rd party contractors when those repairs are needed such as a plumber, general contractor, pest control, etc.
- Repair minor leaks
- Inspect smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, A/C filters, etc. and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, replace doors etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures - keep the grounds, dumpster area, parking lots and public areas free of trash and debris
- Must be able to lift over 40lbs
Skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Good physical condition and strength
- High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC a plus, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $1,500.00 - $2,000.00 per month
