What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collection Specialist position at BrandSafway?

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain cross division customer accounts – customer calls, account adjustments, reconciliations, statements, and credit memos
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships/communications with new and existing customers, respond promptly to customer needs
- Assist customers with billing and service issues that can prevent prompt payment, e.g. provide missing invoices, release of liens
- Process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments
- Enlist the efforts of operations and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process
- Work with cash application department to ensure payments and customer discounts are applied properly
- Prepare weekly and monthly status updates on large or past due accounts
- Provide detailed payment expectations and cash forecasts
- Meet defined cash goals and BrandCash activity metrics
- Protect and maintain lien rights, minimizing bad debt losses
- Assist with minimizing bad debt risk and bad debt reserve requirements
- Complete monthly credit memo scrub and risk reserve reports
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years industry experience in a high-volume billing/payroll role or 2 years of high-volume collections experience
- Knowledge of billing and collections procedures
- Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
- Skill to meet deadlines and goals with accuracy and confidence
- Commitment to outstanding customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and multitask
- Must be a team player
- Knowledge of BrandCash Collection Software or other collections software is a plus
BrandSafway offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance along with a generous 401k plan. The salary range for this position is $46,000 - $52,000 annually. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position.
