Job Overview
Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the Southern Alberta region, reporting to our Calgary branch. This position plays a vital role in the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy duty equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Utilize secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate related instruments, hand tools, power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems accurately.
  • Document all machine information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders accurately and completely.
  • Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
  • Road test equipment and inspect attachment operation as required.

Requirements
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control).
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
