As a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at BCCS, you will:
- Conducts admission examinations, diagnostic interviews, and physical examinations to ascertain the physical and mental state of the client.
- Provide health education to clients, families, and staff within area of specialty
- Participates in case conferences with clients, families, and/or BCCS staff concerning results and recommendations
- Provides emergency/crisis intervention. Responds to urgent or emergency situations in a way that minimizes trauma to the client and staff members and results in stabilization
- Is responsible for clear and detailed documentation of all encounters. Documentation may include background information, behavioral observations, interpretation of test findings, and recommendations for treatment as well as other findings.
- Reviews data from client cases and responds with information and/or recommendations to appropriate staff
- Monitors and adjusts client medications, including opioid agonists and antagonists, medications for alcohol use disorders, etc., when necessary. Has knowledge and is proficient in the indications for prescription medications and their effectiveness in treating the client’s condition
- Administers therapy, including medication/drug therapies, in accordance with the treatment plan.
- Confer regularly with the Medical Director, Medical Providers, other Health Service staff, and various BCCS personnel to consult on/refer specific clients, plan and coordinate activities, exchange information, investigate and resolve problems
- Visit with clients for Family Planning related services and Hepatitis C

- 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Milford, DE - 2 days
- Dover, DE - 1 day
- Georgetown, DE - 2 days
Qualifications For This Position Are
- Advanced degree in Nursing with 1-3 years’ experience, ideally in an OTP/Medically Assisted Treatment setting preferred
- Licensed by the State of Delaware as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- 1-3 years' experience preferred, ideally in an OTP/Medically Assisted Treatment setting
