The Brandywine Valley Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire a Certified Veterinary Technician! Salary/Benefits
· $23-$25 an hour based on the amount of veterinary experience you have.
· No weekends! Some evenings until 8pm are required but we do our best to be flexible. Must be available to work Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities
· Provide proper restraint techniques for both canine and feline patients in a fear free manner.
· Venipuncture for both canine and felines.
· IV Catheter placement for both canine and felines.
· Induction and Intubation of surgical and dentistry patients
· Anesthesia Monitoring of surgical and dentistry patients
· Collect thorough histories on patients and start the SOAP notes.
· Assist veterinarians in appointments for both sick and well patients/help keep them running on time.
· Collect and run lab samples in the in-house lab.
· Restraint for and obtain radiographs using proper techniques
· Fill medications as prescribed by the veterinarians.
· Ability to give SQ, IM and IV injections.
· Ability to do nail trims, ear cleanings, sanitary shaves, etc.
· Ability to properly monitor hospitalized patients receiving treatments including IV fluids
· Dental prophylaxis and the ability to obtain dental rads a plus, but we will teach the right individual.
· Demonstrate a willingness to develop a vast knowledge of veterinary medicine and our recommendations. We are always learning.
· Collect payment for products and services.
· Schedule wellness, sick, urgent, and surgical appointments for clients.
· Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette.
· Ability to stall calm, cool and collected under pressure. This is a medical facility, and we frequently handle emergent and euthanasia situations.
· Ability to help keep clients calm under stress.
· Interact with hospital staff as needed for medical consults, questions, etc.
· Be a team player. We do not tolerant gossip or bullying.
Requirements
· Certified Veterinary Technician License for Pennsylvania
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Ideally 2 or more years in the field, but we will consider less experienced candidates if you are licensed.
· COVID 19 Vaccinated
· Three Personal References
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs
· Ability to pass a background check
· Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) a plus and commands a higher pay rate.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
