We are looking for a high-performing Battery Cell Innovation Center (BCIC) Technician supporting the design and manufacturing of battery cell technology for electrification programs. As a BCIC Technician you will provide technical equipment/systems, cell manufacturing, and testing support to product engineering teams; while adhering to and enforcing the principles of safe work practices, Quality Management System, and ensuring workplace organization and Lean process standards are maintained.
As a Technician I you will exhibit more expertise and training beyond that of the fifth level technician. Your work should be less routine and involve more independent decisions and less supervision.
You will work in several departments where you will demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and learning abilities with a nominal amount of cross training.
You will possess the ability to train entry level technicians.

Requirements
· Two-year associate degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical field or equivalent experience
· 2 years previous working experience in a lab environment
· Thorough knowledge of complex mechanical, chemical, and/or electrical concepts
· Working knowledge of computer applications used in lab/manufacturing environments
· Ability to accurately interpret engineering instructions
· Oral and written communication skills
· Analytical ability where problems are somewhat complex
· Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and assigned leaders in an inclusive, team environment
· Must be willing to work any shift
· Must be able to wear respirator/PAPR as required by task.
Desired Skills
· Previous working experience in a chemical laboratory
· Knowledge of vehicle battery systems and safe work practices
· Knowledge of test equipment, measuring, and recording devices
· Knowledge of electrical and mechanical diagnostics and repair
· Machining and/or welding experience
· Implementation and use of Lean manufacturing tools and processes
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE
· Previous work in lab environment
· Comfortable working with chemicals and wearing associated PPE. (full face respirator, multi-layer gloves, clean room attire).
· Mechatronics experience: 1-2 years experience
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 48 per week
