Job Title: Application Technician
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION:
Provide comprehensive technical skills to execute our P-Series Application Assemblies on all model types. Critical skills require assembly of precision and exclusive components that support functionality of our paint fluid delivery system. Attention to detail a mandatory. The P-Series Paint delivery system starts with sub-assemblies of application equipment and includes mounting of hardware and installation of hosing for paint and air systems. Integration of hoses and mechanical assembly are precision tasks that require considerable attention to detail. Position requires some testing of application assemblies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Sub-assembly, installation and test of application, which includes sub-assemblies, hose bundles, air panels, valve assemblies, and applicators for P-series product that meet Manufacturing Production Plans, standards and Engineering Specifications/Guidelines
- Manufacturing Productivity – Daily technicians must know work schedule and meet the schedule requirements
- Process– Access control plans, quality documents, understand specifications and guidelines
- Quality Inspection -. Ensure product and workmanship meets our standards. Verify assembly and test results data is complete and within defined ranges as needed.
- Care of Tooling/Equipment: Proper care and use of our tools and compliance with Tool Management Procedure
- Housekeeping: Use a 5-S approach to organizing your work area with team.
- Safety Compliance: Know and work to our Basic Safety Training and Procedures (including but no limited to HAZ MAT, LOCKOUT, TAGOUT, robot safety, risk assessments and proper PPE).
- ERP System: Complete work orders and all related work order tasks
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Solid communication skills in technical and non-technical issues (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and components
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering documentation, prints and/or schematics (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic). Proficient with hand and power tools for mechanical and pneumatic assembly
- Experience with safety procedures (MIOSHA regulations, Safety, Fork Truck, Lockout, Hazardous Material)
- Maintains a disciplined approach to responsibilities without supervision.
- Technical communication skills
2. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Prototype Technician, Quality Technician, Automotive Technician, Pneumatic technician, Maintenane Technicians, and/or line builder
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certifications: Basic technical trainings with pneumatic focus
- NETA Certified or NETA Certified Level 3
- Associate degree or Technical Certificate in an Applied Science, licensed/journeyman, or equivalent experience.
- 1-5 years’ experience in manufacturing mechanical assembly and test. or related experience in manufacturing mechanical assembly
- Experience with fixtures and jig for mechanical assembly.
- Experienced and knowledgeable on ISO 9001 requirements (preferred)
3. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds of material
- Operation of equipment
- Proper use of hand tools
4. VISUAL ACUITY, HEARING, SPEAKING
- Good visual acuity, hearing and speaking ability.
5. ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING
- Most assignment occur at our Rochester Hills Headquarters & our North Campus (clean, well lit, air-conditioned), however business requirement may necessitate assignments at remote locations.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
