Job Title/Position: Die Repairer

Summary/Objective:
Administers necessary repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing progressive dies and related tooling
on a daily basis for a safe, clean, productive and economical operation that fully supports press production.
Job Duties:
- Visually and physically inspect and troubleshoot tools and die components for damage and wear
- Dismantles dies, repairs/replaces damaged details or components, verifies that the repaired dies operate correctly. Rework of damaged components. Ensure conformity with part prints and specifications
- Complete work orders assigned on stroke totals/tickets. Sharpen and repair die, validate on tryout press and either return to production or storage as requested
- Operate lifts and overhead crane to move and position dies to worktables and storage locations
- Maintain safety equipment and perform duties in compliance to safety standards
- Utilize toolroom access database to maintain die hit and information on die repairs. Log daily communications, activities, concerns and progress of work
- Interpret blueprint to ensure tool and dies are sharpened/repaired to dimensional conditions
- Ensure tools, tool holders are in good working condition before being placed back on the shelf or in tool drawers. Create requisitions for replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain adequate stock
- Set up and operate toolroom equipment to cut, bore, grind and shape parts to specific dimensions. File, grind, shim, and adjust parts for proper fit. Cut, shape, and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes using power and hand tools
- Complete assignments in a timely manner
- Support production with tryouts and troubleshooting at production workstation as needed
- Complete emergency repairs as needed
- Work as a team with Engineering, Tooling and Production Departments on all tooling issues. Interact with fellow team members in a professional manner
- Support and enhance company learning and development strategy in line with business needs and organizational growth. Share knowledge/learning with others and learn new skills as assigned
- Implement and apply company tools effectively to support toolroom department success. Addressing production and toolroom efficiency (OEE)
- Participate in continuous improvement OEE activities. Participates in overall machine effectiveness efforts, end of job evaluations and waste reduction
- Participate in Toolroom Training Program as assigned. Support and comply with all AlphaUSA company/safety standards and standard operating procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provides guidance, leadership, or training to other Associates (no direct supervision)
- Directly responsible for supervision hourly, non-exempt, manufacturing or office administrative staff
- Directly responsible for supervising exempt, professional or technical associates
- Directly responsible for supervising supervisory/managerial associates
Manual and Power tools, experience working with large progressive, transfer and deep draw dies
Die repair related experience - 4 years preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
