Ready-Mix Truck Driver - Hampton Roads

Job Title : Ready Mix Truck DriverHampton RoadsDepartment : ConcreteReports to : SuperintendentMajor Role and Purpose : Drive trucks equipped with concrete mixer to transport and dump concrete.Description of Duties :

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Pull or push levers to turn mixer drum and dump contents.
• Move hand and foot controls to move truck forward and backward to aid in the placement of concrete.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies in accordance with CDL pre-trip guidelines.
• Use hand tools when necessary.
• Oil, lubricate, and / or general maintenance of equipment may be required.
• Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements and adhere to same.
• Maintain daily log.
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.Work Experience / Qualifications :
• Must possess a valid CDL, Class A or B license with air brake endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.
• Vision must be acceptable for day and night driving.
• Ability to do basic math.Education :
• High School Diploma / GED.Physical Demands :
• Job requires the following motions : climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
• Must be able to climb up and down a ladder.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
• Overtime work is required.
