Job title: Golf course greenskeeper

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00/hr

Summary:

The golf course greenskeeper is responsible for the daily upkeep of the playing conditions on the golf course. Responsibilities are varied on a daily and seasonal basis and are dictated by the needs of the golf course and directed by the superintendent or assistant superintendent. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Duties:

• Mowing
• String Trimming
• Cup Changing
• Watering
• Sodding
• General maintenance
• Machine maintenance
• Irrigation repair
• Fertilization and chemical applications

Shift: Varied, dependent upon time of year. Times can change upon need as necessary

• Monday - Friday

o 6:00am – 2:30pm May - August

o 6:30am – 3:00pm April, September

o 7:00am – 3:30pm March, August, October

o Saturday, as necessary

• Monday – Thursday

o November – February

Experience and Qualifications:

A greenskeeper should be familiar with golf and have an understanding of good golf etiquette. An eye for detail and aesthetics are essential in maintaining the quality conditions that are essential of a resort style golf course. The greenskeeper position is sometimes a physically strenuous position that can require lifting more than 50 pounds, have repetitive motions and frequent bending and stooping. Most of the work is completed in an open outdoor setting so the ability to work for long periods in the seasonal environmental stresses is a necessity. . There is potential for overtime and the ability to work on the weekends is a must. Thousand Hills is a drug free working environment and a valid driver license is required for employment.
