Summer Camp / Sports Lead Instructor

We are excited to announce that the Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC) is looking for a Seasonal Summer Camp / Cannonball Club Instructor. (June 22nd 2025 through August 15th 2025)
The Cannonball Club (Ages 8 & up) has a big emphasis on water sports, including kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing and more. We also take field trips like mini golf, bowling, and Go-Kart racing, just to name a few! BBYC favorites like swimming, tennis, basketball, beach trips and High Island adventures are all part of the Cannonball Club activities rotation.
The Cannonball Club is based out of the South Harbor Facility and held five days a week from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Depending on enrollment, this program will be broken into multiple age groups spanning 2-3 years each. Happy, content tweens turn into young adults returning to the cove year after year, to share their fond memories of BBYC and make new ones with you and their future families

Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC) is located on beautiful Long Beach Island (LBI), New Jersey – a vacation destination for all ages and is located at Exit 63 on the Garden State Parkway. LBI offers many vacation attractions, outstanding restaurants and nightclubs, some of the best beaches in the world and 18 Miles of a barrier island that brings great thermal sea breezes for water sports. BBYC has a comprehensive Junior Program including sailing, surfing, tennis, swimming, arts and crafts camp, and more. For our adults, we have a full schedule of social events in the summer, a “B by the Sea” grill/restaurant, as well as many water sports, sailing, tennis and pickleball activities. Responsibilities
This position reports to the Director of Cannonball Club and will be responsible to support the overall running of this program, including the following:
· Support the Cannnonball Club program by creating and coordinating positive, joyful, enriching, safe, supervised and educational activities and by managing transitions between activities
· Support 4 field trips during the summer
· Facilitate group activities for your participants during free periods
· Report any notable concerns or incidents to the Director of Cannonball Club
Job Duties
· Responsible for the care and supervision of your group of Cannonball Club Participants
· Engage in activities which build physical, mental, emotional, and social skills
· Establish a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for the children
· Supervise activities for your participants
· Interact with children during planned activities and child-directed activities (sports, water activities, craft, field trips, cooking and science activities, etc.)
· Encourage children to be independent by having them do things for themselves, including cleaning up after themselves
· Encourage children to respect each other.
· Responsible for positive guidance techniques which foster the child’s ability to be self-disciplined
· Encourage children to vent frustrations or hostilities without hurting themselves or others
· Notify the Cannonball Club Director when a child has an accident, exhibits unusual behavior, or displays signs of illness, and fill out appropriate forms, as required
· Other related responsibilities may be assigned by the Cannonball Club Director as needed.
Position Requirements:
· Be passionate about entertaining youth and developing team spirit
· Maintain a positive and energetic attitude
· At least 1-2 years of experience with childcare, teaching or camp counseling required.
· First Aid & CPR/AED certifications (maybe offered on site)
· Maintain a positive and energetic attitude

· Proven track record of superior organization and multi-tasking
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Must be able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
