What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Wine Director position at Brass New York?
BRASS, TUSK BAR new food and beverage concepts in Flatiron/ Nomad, are seeking an experienced Wine Professional to support oversight of the wine program of multiple outlets in tandem with our beverage director. With Michelin star culinary partners and a strong front of house team in place we are looking for career oriented professionals with the highest of ambitions.
Job Duties include but are not limited to
- Assistance with wine program in Brass & Tusk Bar
- Working the service floor
- Oversight and training of service staff
- Assistance with planning wine lists and executing in accordance with the venue’s mission and philosophy, pricing the lists to maximize profitability.
- Monitor service methods, portion sizes, presentation of wine to ensure that wine is presented in an acceptable manner.
- Product and service knowledge training for all staff
- Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.
- Oversee correct receipt, payment, storage and handling of all wine
- Monitor inventory and payroll expenditure in accordance with authorized budgets.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding budgeted food sales goals.
Requirements:
NYC DOH Food handlers card
At least 2 years experience in NYC restaurant in a formal beverage role
Clean & organized working habits with attention to detail
Team player and good communicator with a positive attitude
