For seven weeks each summer; Marlboro, VT forms a closely-knit community of some 65 exceptional young professional musicians and 25 master artists from the U.S. and around the world. The Brattleboro Food Co-op will be providing 3 meals a day on-site at the Potash Hill Campus in Marlboro.

Purpose: The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment and assisting with general food preparation.
Customer Service:
- Assists customers with questions in a prompt and courteous manner
- Provide attentive and courteous customer service
- Maintain a polite, friendly and helpful attitude towards internal and external customers
- Product Knowledge:
- Knowledgeable about all products. Continues to learn about new products. Answers questions accurately
- Product Presentation and Quality:
- Ensure quality food preparation, presentation and execution
Safety:
- Handles all equipment in a safe manner
- Alert to unsafe equipment and removes any equipment that is unsafe from usage
- Teamwork:
- Ensures department teamwork through trust and communication
- Accountability:
- Accepts responsibility for personal decisions and actions. Exemplifies honesty, integrity and ethics
- Contributes constructively to the morale of the department
- Shows initiative in solving issues and achieving the departmental goals
Job Specific Functions:
- Adhere to established safety and sanitation standards
- Assist in receiving and stocking of supplies
- Daily dishwashing, mopping, sweeping, and other cleaning tasks
- Assist in food preparation as needed
- Assist as directed in facilitating meal service, and event set up and breakdown as needed
- Removal of recycling/compost/garbage to the designated areas throughout the day
- Accurately inputting shrink data as needed
- Maintaining clean and orderly work stations
- Adhering to the site code of conduct as defined during training
- Other duties as assigned
