Job Summary
Brattleboro Housing Partnerships seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounts Administrator by performing various tasks related to financial record keeping and reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, and excellent mathematical skills. This position offers a flexible schedule. It is part-time, between 8-10 hours a week spread between 2 or 3 days.
Responsibilities
A. Accounts Payable 60%
a. Enter invoice after Accounts Administrator has coded
b. Produce checks and attach payment stub to invoices
c. Prepare check folder for signers
d. Prepare and mail checks
B. Bank Deposits 10%
a. Prepare deposit slips
b. Photocopy all check and deposit slips
c. Deposit checks at bank
d. Deposit laundry quarters as needed
e. Ensure all deposit receipts are accurate
C. Administrative 10%
a. File invoices
b. File bank statements
c. Scan documents to be sent to Fee Accountant when Accounts Administrator is unavailable
D. Payroll 0-5% Train for redundancy
a. Enter new employee information into software
b. Generate weekly payroll when the Accounts Administrator is unable to complete
E. Additional duties 15%
a. Assist with preparation of audit materials
b. Update Housing Assistance Payments as needed
c. As time and duties permit, assist other program staff with data input and records.
d. Other duties as assigned by the Accounts Administrator
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
