Assistant Varsity Football Coach
Job Description:
Brattleboro Union High School is seeking an assistant coach for our varsity football team. The season runs from mid-August through October into early November. Successful candidates will be equipped to support the varsity head coach and program as needed, have energy and passion for athletics and working with students, strong interpersonal skills, and knowledge of the sport. Our goal is to provide an education-based environment that fosters the attributes of individual and team improvement, fair play, sportsmanship, and teamwork in pursuit of a common goal. Applicants must be able to develop a solid rapport with students, work cooperatively with the athletic program and coaching staff, provide positive leadership, and model the ideals of good citizenship.

Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of coaching principles and technical aspects of sport is required.
Experience coaching and/or teaching high school-aged students is preferred.
After-school availability, weekends required.

Successful completion of Criminal Background and Child Abuse/Neglect Registry Checks required.
Must meet certifications and training requirements of the Vermont Principals’ Association (VPA):
Coursework as required through USA Football
Concussion in Sports – Upon hire
CPR/AED – Upon hire
Implicit Bias – Upon hire
Fundamentals of Coaching – within one year of hire
Sports First Aid – within one year of hire
