What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Coach position at Brattleboro Union High School?
The Job Coach is a para-educator-level posiition. The job coach works in employment settings with students with disabilities. Job coaches provide instruction in community work settings to allow students increased opportunities to develop employment skills and behaviors. The role of the job coach is to support each student's Individual Educational Plan under the supervision of the career education special educator.
Job coaches must be able to demonstrate and model professionalism at all times in order to set an example of how to dress,, behave, and interact in the workplace. Additionally, a job coach must model punctuality, ability to proactively problem solve, demonstrate patience, and the ability to use respectful language.
Work expectations include the following:
-Familiarize yourself with each work site's expectations and the goals and objectives stated on each student's indivisual educational program.
-Communicate with yor supervisor on a consistent basis and troubleshoot problems that arise at work sites.
-Maintain confidentialy of students' personal information and educational records
-Follow district policies to protect the health, safety and well-being of all students
-Collect and record student performance data and provide immediate and constructive feedback to students
-Facilitate communication wioth employers as necessary
-Transport students to and from work sites
