Accountant – Manufacturing – Virginia Beach – Salary $65 - $100K based on experience

Role and Responsibilities :

A fast-growing and diversified manufacturing company is seeking an ACCOUNTANT to join its corporate accounting team in Virginia Beach.

The accountant will focus on complex general ledger accounting through month-end close, indirect taxes, and provide reconciliations for and assistance with federal tax preparation.

This is an ideal role for an experienced and proactive accounting professional that enjoys a team-centered and fast-paced environment and is seeking a long-term role with this profitable and expanding industry leader!! Duties and Responsibilities Include :

General ledger accounting including complex reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
Reconcile sales and use taxes and prepare returns for the US and Canada
Financial reporting and analysis
Assist with annual income tax preparation
Assist with audit preparation
Play a key role in accounting department process improvements and strategic initiatives

Qualifications and Education Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in accounting with master’s degree and / or CPA preferred

2 years of experience focused on complex general ledger accounting through month-end close

1 years of experience with indirect taxes preferred

Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, multitasking, and team-centered environment

Exceptional computer skills including advanced Excel and experience with ERPs

Proven ability to perform reconciliations of large data sets

Excellent communication skills, ability to meet multiple deadlines, with strong sense of urgency and commitment to accuracy

Keen attention to detail, developed problem-solving skills, and ability to switch gears quickly

Long-term player, with proven longevity in previous roles

Manufacturing industry experience is a plus but not required
