A "day in the life" of an Assistant Director at Brave Kids:
- Hang out in the Lounge and read a story to some campers who arrive first.
- Help two five-year-olds who won’t share with each other. Find a solution that fits with the four rules for Brave Kids camp.
- Have a check-in with the Camp Director to run through the game-plan for the day and troubleshoot any potential issues.
- While keeping an eye on behavior, engage and have fun with 10 children who are creating with Legos in the Build Studio.
- Oversee safety and fun at the waterslide for 30 minutes while a teammate is at lunch.
- Organize and lead an “obstacle course challenge” for 45 minutes on the mat area.
- Proactively observe that kids are having to stand in line for a long time to get their lunchboxes at lunch. Brainstorm and implement a solution so they don’t have to stand and wait so long.
- Try to help with a camper behavior situation, but get stuck. Bring it to the director and work together to determine next steps.
- At the last hour of the day, help the checkout process go smoothly. Chat with parents picking up and help their experience be a positive one.
- High fives all around and hit the road to enjoy your evening!
