A day in the life of an Counselor at Brave Kids:
- Arrive at camp and help with setup for the day.
- Hang out in the Lounge and read a story to some kids who arrive first.
- Help two five-year-olds who are having trouble sharing with each other. Find a solution that fits within the four rules for Brave Kids camp.
- While keeping an eye on behavior, engage with some campers who are creating with Legos in the Build Studio. Give high fives for cool designs.
- Oversee safety and fun at the waterslide for 30 minutes. Keep cool by encouraging the kids to have a “biggest splash” contest.
- Observe that kids are having to stand in line for a long time to get their lunch boxes at lunch. Proactively brainstorm a solution and run it by a Director.
- Organize and lead an “obstacle course challenge” for 30 minutes on the mat area.
- Try to help with a camper behavior situation, but get stuck. Bring it to a Director and work together to determine next steps.
- At the last hour of the day, join in a kickball game while kids are getting checked out to go home.
- As the last camper checks out, high fives your teammates! Hit the road to enjoy your evening.
