Canon Req 32390 Technician, Engineering II Semiconductor

Location : Hillsboro, OR

Pay : $29.20-$43.73 / hour target pay for a tech II is $78k plus a 10% shift differential for a compressed work week

Overview

Are you seeking an opportunity to work with Semiconductor manufacturing equipment? As an Engineering Technician IV, you will provide customer support for onsite installations, repairs and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor equipment primarily in Hillsboro Oregon.

This is an exciting opportunity to be on the cutting edge of technology and join a dedicated team enabling new technology to improve processes in a pre-production environment.

You will receive 1-2 weeks of training in Austin, Texas or Japan and 4 weeks OJT in Hillsboro, Oregon.

NOTE : Position will work a compressed work week requiring flexibility to change work schedule as required.

The schedule depends if working front end or back end

The front end of the week is :

Week 1 is Sunday to Wednesday 7 : 00am 7 : 30pm ( or 7 : 00pm 7 : 30am) 11.5 hours work with a 1 hour lunch = 46 hours

Week 2 is Sunday to Tuesday 7 : 00am 7 : 30pm ( or 7 : 00pm 7 : 30am) 11.5 hours work with a 1 hour lunch = 34.5 hours

Total 2 week = 80.5

The back end of the week is :

Week 1 is Wednesday to Saturday 7 : 00am 7 : 30pm ( or 7 : 00pm 7 : 30am) 11.5 hours work with a 1 hour lunch = 46 hours

Week 2 is Thursday to Saturday 7 : 00am 7 : 30pm ( or 7 : 00pm 7 : 30am) 11.5 hours work with a 1 hour lunch = 34.5 hours

Total 2 week = 80.5

This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s) / worksite(s) / territory.

Responsibilities

Check and maintain equipment within factory standard specifications of system equipment

Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system equipment

Serve as company liaison with customer on matters for assigned projects (i.e. installations and major component replacements)

Perform complex repair maintenance or unit replacement according to factory procedures independently and with others

Provide technical support to customers and respond to questions regarding operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment down time and ensure positive customer relations

Identify and report equipment error and status updates related to equipment performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance

Maintain accurate documentation of activity and provide periodic reports

Conduct training for customer personnel ensuring proficiency of service and operations

Work with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment

Qualifications

Please note : this is a customer-facing role, and requires compliance with customer policies and protocols, which may include COVID-19 vaccination and other measures relating to COVID-19

Associates degree or equivalent experience required (Bachelor's degree preferred) plus 4-5 years of related experience.

Knowledge of Linux operating system is preferred for operating and troubleshooting the system

Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field (i.e. semiconductor manufacturing equipment)

Hands on mechanical skills required

Hands on experience with electronic testing tools required

Able to work on equipment alone and work with other engineers as a team player under challenging situations

Additional experience or knowledge in optical, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skill or chemical are plus

Excellent trouble shooting skills, verbal and written communication skills

Customer support experience is a plus

Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules

Must feel comfortable working in a cleanroom environment most of the day (wearing full clean room suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses)

May require International and domestic travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary). Additionally, because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job, must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.

Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds individually and for lifting over 30 pounds assistance may be available.

Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking and hearing.

Occasionally kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs or ladder.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and / or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

The work environment may include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light and lasers, working in enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles or passageways.

The work environment may include working in highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolution including equipment problems.
