The mission of BraveBe Child Advocacy Center (BraveBe) is to respond to child abuse through a team approach designed to reduce trauma, seek justice, and provide hope and healing for children and their families.
Summary of the Position:
The Special Events & Volunteers Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of new and existing fundraising events, as well as overseeing BraveBe’s volunteer program. This role involves organizing fundraising events and securing sponsorships to meet fundraising goals. Additionally, the position focuses on building and nurturing relationships with community partners, sponsors, and volunteers to enhance engagement with BraveBe’s mission and activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, and execute both new and recurring fundraising events.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful event logistics, including venue selection, marketing, and vendor coordination. This includes collaborating with special event committees.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve financial and attendance goals.
- Track and evaluate the performance of events, adjusting strategies to improve future outcomes.
- Work with Development Team to identify, cultivate, and secure sponsorships and partnerships for special events.
- Manage relationships with sponsors, ensuring fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and strong post-event follow-up.
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support events and BraveBe’s programs.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules, roles, and responsibilities, ensuring appropriate support levels for each event, or special project.
- Foster a positive and engaging environment for volunteers, recognizing and rewarding contributions to strengthen retention.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, sponsors, and partners to increase involvement in BraveBe’s mission.
- Represent BraveBe at community outreach events to raise awareness of the organization’s activities and opportunities for support.
- Collaborate with the Development Team and Leadership Team to promote fundraising events and volunteer opportunities through various channels (social media, email, press releases, etc.).
- Assist in developing content and materials to engage the community and potential sponsors in BraveBe’s events and programs.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation, event outcomes, and sponsorship agreements.
- Prepare regular reports on event performance, volunteer activities, and sponsorship success.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies during all events and volunteer activities.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in communications, public relations, event management, or a related field.
Experience: Candidates must have 2 years of experience in event planning along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Requires advanced organizational skills with ability to multitask and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Must possess strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing; excellent public speaking skills; adept at writing proposals, solicitation letters, donor correspondence, and other material related to fundraising.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual does not supervise direct reports but will regularly supervise volunteers and interns.

The Special Events & Volunteers Coordinator position involves a variety of physical demands, including the ability to stand for extended periods during events in varied community settings. This role requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer and will also require frequent walking to host events and engage with BraveBe donors and partners. Candidates should be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, which will include event materials.
