Job Summary
BRAVO IMAGING is seeking a motivated and technically inclined Field Service Engineer Trainee to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in medical imaging equipment service, maintenance, and repair. The trainee will work closely with experienced Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to receive hands-on training in troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on advanced medical imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities On-the-Job Training (OJT) & Support:
- Assist senior engineers in installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical imaging equipment, including MRI, CT, X-ray, C-arms, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Bone Densitometers (DEXA), Nuclear Medicine, DR, CR, and PET/CT,
- Observe and learn diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
- Follow company and manufacturer guidelines to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, OSHA, ACR, and state regulations).
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on medical imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Assist in diagnosing system failures, replacing defective parts, and ensuring proper functionality after repairs.
- Document all service activities, including maintenance reports, repair logs, and parts usage, in the company's service management system.
Technical & Customer Support:
- Support customers by providing basic operational training and answering inquiries regarding equipment functionality.
- Develop communication skills by interacting with hospital staff, radiologists, biomedical engineers, and healthcare administrators.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while working on-site at hospitals, imaging centers, and clinics.
Tools, Equipment & Inventory Management:
- Assist in testing, calibration, and verification of imaging systems to manufacturer specifications.
- Properly handle and maintain diagnostic tools, service kits, and electronic testing devices.
- Learn to track and manage spare parts inventory for assigned service areas.
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronics, Computer Technology or Military experience or High School Vocational training.
Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of electronic circuits, mechanical systems, and networking principles.
- Willingness to learn advanced troubleshooting techniques for medical imaging equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for customer interactions and documentation.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for installations, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
Physical & Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various clinical environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to different service locations as needed.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, as required by healthcare facilities.
