Job Title: Service Technician
Location: Southern California (San Diego)
Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with overtime as required. Must be willing to work both indoors and outdoors.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a service technician with knowledge of pumps and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills and the ability to perform independently, ensuring the functionality and reliability of pump systems through inspection, repair, and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Since 1986 Brax Company has been a leading distributor and repair facility for pump and process equipment in the municipal, industrial, military and commercial building industry throughout California, Nevada and Hawaii. Brax has consistently developed key relationships with industry leading manufacturers to promote onsite stock and repair capabilities for rapid turnaround, cutting down times from weeks to days and allowing for lower repair costs and loss of production to be minimal. Brax maintains a sales and engineering staff, and a full service machine shop/repair facility in San Diego with experienced field technicians to offer all phases of service and repair. We are committed to helping all customers with a consultation to help implement preventative maintenance programs to create the highest operating efficiencies, and to follow through with the most cost effective repairs to minimize system operational costs.
Brax Company is interested in any individuals interested in working in the mechanical trades.
Any experience is welcome, although it is not necessarily required, as we are willing to train anyone interested.

Responsibilities:
- Perform pump teardown, inspection, and diagnose equipment failures.
- Repair or replace failed parts and conduct preventative maintenance.
- Clean, assemble, and paint new pumps to specifications.
- Keep the workspace and warehouse organized and clean.
- Complete tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Familiarity with hand, power, and air-operated tools.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of pumps, motors, couplings, and seals.
- Preferred knowledge of various pumps, including centrifugal, gear, piston, turbine, split case, and submersible pumps.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Basic electrical knowledge is desirable.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to perform duties independently, maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Ability to climb ladders, stand, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, sit, reach, and routinely lift objects over 50 pounds.
