A DAY IN THE LIFE OF SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
In this project management role, you have overall responsibility for your assigned projects, and you serve as the primary engineer and contract administrator on mid-size projects. You oversee and inspire your team of project engineers, field engineers, and office engineers to complete quality construction projects by using your knowledge of the industry and exceptional leadership skills. Your organizational skills shine as you perform CPM scheduling, contract management, track and report quantities of work performed and associated costs and analyze production and cost data and assist with cost projection preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
Required Skills and Abilities :
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about assigned projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with ability to delegate and prioritize tasks.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (particularly Excel).
- Must be willing and able to travel or relocate as necessary for projects.
Education and Experience
This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
