Driver Job Description

The Brazilian Worker Center is looking for a responsible, organized, and safety-conscious driver to join our team. In this role, the driver will pick up families and transport them to various locations as required by the organization. We’re looking for someone who has a proven track record of safe, skillful driving. The ideal candidate will enjoy being behind the wheel, seeing new places, and meeting new people.

Objectives of this role

• Transport families and their belongings to designated locations in a timely fashion
• Comply with all traffic laws and company safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and operational vehicle
• Represent the company positively and professionally in interactions with families and the general public
• Gain a thorough understanding of the local area and the most efficient routes

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to make pickups and deliveries
• Help with loading and unloading vehicles (to include supplies, luggage, etc)
• Help with installation of child car seats as needed.
• Complete pre- and post-trip safety and operations checklists and documentation
• Maintains the cleanliness of the company vehicle and is responsible for informing the organization about repairs and maintenance.
• Use navigational technology to find and follow optimal routes
• Refuel vehicles and ensure they’re always ready for use.

Required skills and qualifications

• U.S. Work Authorization
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Speak English, Spanish, or Portuguese fluently (Creole as secondary language is a benefit).
• Clean driving record for at least one year in the U.S.
• Ability to drive for extended periods
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to navigate and climb stairs.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Valid commercial U.S. driver’s license
• Experience driving in a professional capacity
• Experience using GPS technology
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Familiarity with the local area

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
