What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary/Kennel Assistant position at Brazoria Veterinary Clinic?
Brazoria Veterinary Clinic is looking for a new team member! We have a kennel assistant opportunity available for the person with the personality and qualifications fit for our team.

- Able to lift 40lbs and stand or bend frequently throughout the day
- Has animal handling skills (or not be afraid to deal with hurting or sick animals)
- Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner even when stressed and focused on individual tasks
The job includes, but is not limited to:
- Organizing the work space
- Cleaning/Sanitizing indoor and outdoor dog and cat kennels and kennel areas
- Ensure proper basic care for all animals including feeding, medicating and hygiene
- Communicate with clients to ensure they are comfortable leaving their animals in our care
- Verify that all treatments and belongings are completed at time of pick up
- Keep an inventory list and maintain adequate inventory for kennel and hospital cleaning
- Follow instructions by the client or doctor in giving care, feeding, and medicating
- Bathing, nail trims, ear and teeth cleaning, and other pet grooming services
- Maintain a daily and weekly cleaning schedule for interior and exterior of building
- Maintain all clinic laundry
- Working weekends and rotating holidays (limited hours)
- Clean animal spaces (kennels, indoor and outdoor runs, barn exam area)
- Maintaining clean waiting, treatment and surgery areas during the day
If you are not able to work weekends or share holidays, you will not be considered for this position.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $13.00 per hour

- Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
