Are you an experienced electrical engineer passionate about designing and protecting vital power systems? Brazos Electric is seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our Electrical Transmission Design Engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and innovate in the planning and design of system protection and control facilities, ensuring the reliability and safety of our electrical infrastructure.
What You’ll Do :
- Collaborate and Coordinate : Work closely with internal teams and external partners, including contractors, consultants, and member cooperatives, to manage and coordinate project activities.
- Design and Innovate : Prepare and analyze engineering drawings and specifications, designing systems that incorporate protective relays, transformers, circuit breakers, and other critical equipment. Your work will ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and Enhance : Diagnose and troubleshoot protection-related systems, supporting operational modifications and enhancements to maintain optimal system performance.
- Analyze and Report : Analyze system fault records and provide detailed reports to Cooperative, outside utility, or ERCOT personnel, helping to maintain the integrity and reliability of our electrical systems.
- Project Management : Lead project teams from conception to completion, including estimating costs, managing schedules, and evaluating materials. You'll also handle purchase order requisitions and review equipment bids as needed.
