What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Coordinator position at Brazos Spine?
We are looking for a motivated, hardworking, friendly individual for a very busy medical practice. We have openings for either a full-time or part-time surgical coordinator. Normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, some evenings and early mornings may be required. Candidates must be comfortable learning new things and being able to apply them. Some background in healthcare would be an added plus but is not a requirement. Customer service is our number one priority. Students: please submit a current class schedule when applying. Candidates must be willing to commit to the position for at least 18 months.
Job Duties:
- Completing patient check-ins and check-outs, including collecting payments, preparing & sending referrals, and sending medications to pharmacies
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments and surgeries
- Submitting pre-authorization requests to insurance
- Coordinating patient treatment with other offices, hospitals, and medical reps
- Compiling treatment records, documenting notes, and completing paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
