Position Overview:

Brazos Valley Head Start Programs (BVCAP) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Center Director to support the management of our Early Head Start or Head Start programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality educational standards, effective team collaboration, and family engagement within the center.

Brazos Valley Head Start Programs (BVCAP) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Center Director to support the management of our Early Head Start or Head Start programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality educational standards, effective team collaboration, and family engagement within the center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Assist the Center Director with day-to-day operations, compliance with program regulations, and maintaining high educational standards.
- Curriculum Development: Help develop and implement age-appropriate curriculums in a stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
- Team Collaboration: Support and guide teaching staff to foster a cohesive and positive work culture.
- Staff Development: Promote professional growth through ongoing training opportunities.
- Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families to support their involvement in their children's education.
- Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks, including record-keeping, reporting, and maintaining compliance with standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum CDA; Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or similar preferred.
- Willingness to obtain a Center Director Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education, with Head Start experience preferred (internal candidates).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Team-oriented and adaptable to evolving program needs.
- Passion for working with children and families.
- Must pass a health questionnaire and comprehensive background check.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Obtain CPR & First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of a Health Appraisal Questionnaire prior to hiring.
- Successful completion of Texas Background Information Disclosure and other required checks before hire and annually thereafter.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, reaching, talking, hearing, walking, and sitting.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift and move up to 45 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
