We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Custodian at BVCAP Head Start/Early Head Start Programs in Bryan, Texas. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a knack for custodial responsibilities and a friendly personality.
Responsibilities:
Custodial Services – Facility and Grounds (80%)
1. Daily cleaning of classrooms, office, bathrooms, and common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash.
2. Inventory control of all cleaning supplies, including ordering and receiving supplies.
3. Seasonal deep cleaning and maintenance of building interior and exterior (i.e. Floor waxing, carpet cleaning, pressure wash building).
4. Ensure that safety and health procedures are followed as directed by the Manager and/or established policies.
5. Perform routine inspections and regular upkeep of interior and exterior areas to ensure areas are free of safety hazards, trash, weeds and other foreign materials.
6. Perform regular upkeep of outside areas, including lawns, landscaped beds, playgrounds and parking lots, to include weeding, trash and litter removal required to keep areas clean, neat and safe.
7. Assist with moving office and classroom furniture, fixtures and equipment to support increasing staffing changes, relocations, remodels, program expansion and custodial requirements.
Material, Equipment, Supplies & Miscellaneous (20%)
1. Miscellaneous minor maintenance: (i.e. changing filters, unclog toilets, daylight bulbs etc.)
2. Assist with training and event set-ups.
3. Complete Safety Checklist on a monthly basis.
4. Attend meetings and trainings as required or recommended by supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned.
5. Respond to on-call custodial/minor maintenance emergencies outside of regular assigned hours.
6. Other duties as assigned.

- High school graduate,
- schedule flexibility to include availability to perform occasional emergency services outside of assigned work hours.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation and a friendly, welcoming personality.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English language.
- Must be able to past the Required Texas licensing background screening and complete health questionnaire.
