The Brazos Valley Council of Governments (BVCOG) has a full-time opening for a Program Assistant in the Purchasing Solutions Alliance (PSA). Under general supervision, the Program Assistant provides administrative and program support for the PSA, a cooperative purchasing program of the BVCOG. This position performs a variety of clerical, customer service, and data entry duties to ensure efficient operations and delivery of services. This position reports directly to the Program Manager of the PSA program and through channels to the BVCOG Executive Director.
Essential Functions
- Assist with the research, writing, evaluation, and awarding of Requests for Proposals (RFPs);
- Assist with contract management by receiving and recording vendor payments, preparing contract amendments, and performing annual price audits;
- Collaborate with graphic design team to
1. Grow PSA brand awareness across various channels
2. Design engaging and impactful content for online platforms and social media and
3. Target campaigns and messaging to focus audience
- Onboard new PSA members;
- Assist the Purchasing Department with various procurement functions.
- Generate reports, compile statistics, and assist with program documentation as required.
- Provide support in preparing correspondence, presentations, and other communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the BVCOG’s mission and goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients, staff, and community partners.
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities to craft compelling messages.
- Creative thinking and design skills to develop engaging content.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and measure campaign performance.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work is performed in an office environment with standard office equipment. Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
