Job Purpose
Responsible in assisting Maintenance Supervisor to ensure timely and competent repairs and maintenance of all BVCASA facilities.
Job Description
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor in all repairs and maintenance to upkeep the integrity of the buildings with the exception of work that requires a certified or licensed technician.
- Report, assist, and respond/act timely to deficiencies and/or repair requests from management, staff, and clients through the appropriate work order process.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with removing debris, moving/constructing furniture, painting, changing lights, air filters, cleaning A/C units, and other minor maintenance or facility tasks as needed.
- Assist with internal facility inspections and reporting areas out of compliance.
- Mow lawn at downtown Bryan location, trim shrubbery, and ensure timely maintenance of lawn equipment.
- Keep all maintenance equipment in good working condition for use.
- Ensure all safety policies are carried out and report any concerns to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Ensure a timely response to all communication from external and internal sources.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring the facility is compliant with rules, regulations, policies, codes, and other requirements as designated by state and local contracts.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, employees and others in compliance with DSHS and TDCJ regulations
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with Federal Confidentiality Laws and BVCASA Policies and Procedures.
- May need to participate in agency wide activities, in place of the Maintenance Supervisor, as needed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the organization in furthering its mission.
- May need to assist Maintenance Supervisor in meeting required deadlines for training, reporting, and documentation of services as well as any other necessary deadlines to keep within compliance.
- Act as a resource for any community service workers when Maintenance Supervisor is unavailable.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or GED with at least three years’ maintenance experience. Experience in plumbing and basic electrical is preferred.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Must have basic knowledge of maintenance, repair and upkeep of building;
- Must communicate a respectful attitude toward all persons;
- Must have good verbal skills and relate well to individuals and groups;
- Must be willing to receive and to respond positively to supervision;
- Must be able to lift over 25lbs;
- Must model a healthy lifestyle, demonstrate appropriate behavior, and use interpersonal skills to promote and instill good safety and health practices of staff and clients.
Other Requirements
Must have a current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a method of reliable communication.
